Connect a non-networked device to a PLC control system (via its serial or CAN interface)
Embed multi-network capability into a new product range series
Integrate existing devices into a PLC control system (Fieldbus or Industrial Ethernet)
Keep a well-performing, non-networked device e.g. a bar-code scanner, by connecting it to a PLC control system using its serial RS-232/422/485 or CAN-based interface. No need for any hardware or software changes.
Anybus® Communicator™ connects to the devices RS-232/422/485 interface and translates the serial or CAN data stream into a fieldbus or industrial Ethernet protocol. The device will then be represented as a Slave/Adapter on the PLC control network.

Require integrated fieldbus and industrial Ethernet connectivity for a new range of e.g Sensors. Require a mix of traditional fieldbuses but also want to have PROFINET, EtherNet/IP and CC-Link IE Field to expand your global market reach. In addition, there are size, cost, time and conformance issues.
Anybus® CompactCom™ products are ready-made communication interfaces for fieldbus and industrial Ethernet, which you design in to give your sensor multi-network slave/adapter interface. The ideal choice is an Anybus Brick. Its small size, connector flexibility, cost and time to market make this a great fit. In addition, all Anybus CompactCom products are pre-conformed for full network compliance.

Need to connect two different cells on the factory floor where barcode scanners and sensors are connected to two different PLC systems.
Anybus® X-gateways™ connect any TWO combinations of fieldbus or industrial Ethernet networks. The X-gateways primary function is fast transfer of cyclic I/O data between the two networks
