Scenario

An industrial robot is usually an integrated cell of a large automation system. The robot controller cell often has an integrated network (DeviceNet for example). The cell needs to be connected to another part of the factory floor that has a PROFINET PLC control system.  

 

Solution

Anybus® X-gateways™ connect any TWO combinations of fieldbus or industrial Ethernet networks. The X-gateways primary function is fast transfer of cyclic I/O data between the two networks  

  • Over 200 individual network combination gateway versions available - compatible with all PLC brands
  • Master/Scanner interfaces for CANopen, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP and PROFIBUS can eliminate the need for an additional expense of a PLC Master Controller.

Anybus gateways and networks

Connect a serial or CAN-based controller to a PLC system

Connect any non-networked controller via its serial RS-232/422/485 or CAN interface to any fieldbus or industrial Ethernet network.

Scenario

Keep a well-performing, non-networked controller by connecting it to a PLC control system using its serial RS-232/422/485 or CAN-based interface. No need for any hardware or software changes.

 

Solution

Anybus® Communicator™ connects to the controller's RS-232/422/485 interface and translates the serial or CAN data stream into a fieldbus or industrial Ethernet protocol. The Controller will then be represented as a Slave/Adapter on the PLC control network. 

  • Versions available for all major fieldbus and industrial Ethernet networks
  • Performs complete serial protocol conversion, no PLC function blocks or programming required
  • Keep your existing Controller as is - No hardware or software changes needed!

Anybus Communicator family

Integrate real-time industrial Ethernet and fieldbus capability

Give your new controller an integrated real-time networking solution for industrial Ethernet and fieldbus. Supports motion profiles and synchronization. 

Scenario

If you require integrated fieldbus and industrial Ethernet connectivity for an industrial robot, which is normally an integrated cell of a large automation system. The robot controller needs two communication systems, one “uplink” to a PLC and one “downlink” to its own I/O and local devices.

Wireless access for your controllers

Connect, configure, troubleshoot or access live data from your controllers wirelessly over Bluetooth or WLAN. 

Scenario

Configure or troubleshoot a controller located inside an enclosed robot cell of a large automation system. The user needs to access the controller safely, without having to stop the operation of the system.

In addition, the user needs live data from the controller for analysis and reporting and for integration into a SCADA system.

 

Solution

Anybus® Wireless Bolt™ is mounted onto the controller cabinet and connects via Ethernet, Serial RS-232/485 or CAN to the controller. Using either Bluetooth or WLAN you can access the controller and its live data, all from a safe distance.

  • All-in-one solution with connector, communication processor and integrated antenna in the same unit.
  • Provides for an exterior IP67 protection class, with with a max range of 100 meters
